My Conundrum

I don’t seem to have any aim;
I am no longer part of the game,
I wonder, what will I ever achieve?
Will there ever be any reprieve?

The accolades have wilted,
The appreciation has withered,
My identity is lost and deprived,
Will I ever be again recognised?

Household work, neverending and more,
Cooking and cleaning is a chore.
I wonder, will my career take flight?
Will the labels, get any better or right?

I aspire to work, from office or home,
Business ideas get piled up in a dome,
Insta and Facebook attract my attention,
Can they help me make money, is a big question?

Enjoying my child’s growth, adds meaning
To my otherwise, aimless and mundane living;
I wonder, being a mother and wife, is that enough?
Will getting back my identity, be any more tough?

My Little Girl

Her little footsteps, pattering around;
Toys everywhere, and tantrums abound!

Little princess wants to do, everything on her own;
Parroting my actions, literally like a clone!

Her voice as chirpy, as a cute little bird;
But I bet her screams, can disperse a big herd!

I’ve lost count, of all her nicknames;
Her mischiefs, pranks and various games!

Her eyes brimming with, sheer naughtiness;
Spreading across the house, joy and happiness!

She’s always ready, to climb onto the lap;
Basking in glory, as her grandparents clap!

Her father’s darling, and dear sweetheart;
Tears in her eyes, rip his soul apart!

A sweet angel, when she sleeps really sound;
A little devil when awake, would make the monkeys astound!

Her aunts and uncles’, favourite little brat;
They do her bidding, at the drop of the hat!

Her elder brother’s, dearest sweet pet;
A caring protector he’ll be, indeed I bet!

The world revolving, around her little finger;
Let my love and affection, for her always linger!
